Welcome to the Warwickshire School of Anaesthesia
The Warwickshire School delivers postgraduate training in Anaesthesia in the UK and forms part of the West Midlands Deanery. There are also schools based in Stoke and Birmingham
There are six hospitals comprising the school. Core trainees (CT) in year 1 and 2 are usually based at one or two of these hospitals. Specialist Trainees (ST) year 3 - 7 will rotate through most of the hospitals during their training. The school also has attachments to Birmingham Children's Hospital for paediatric training and University Hospital Birmingham for training in cardiac and neuroanaesthesia
The school has two Programme Directors, one each for Core and Specialist trainees. They liaise with College Tutors in each hospital, Regional Advisors at the West Midlands Deanery and The Royal College of Anaesthetists
